Cranio-Facial Lecture at the Children’s Hospital Westmead 12th December 2025
Dr Lydia Lim was invited to lecture at the Cranio-Facial teaching session on Orthognathic Surgery for Cleft and Cranio-facial Patients. She discussed how orthognathic surgery is more challenging and complex in these particular group of patients and at the same time showed how life changing the outcomes can be. She discussed innovative techniques including distraction osteogenesis for the severe cleft deformity patient , modified techniques for osteotomy of the costo-chondral (rib) graft in hemi-facial microsomia patients and evolving techniques including custom TMJ prosthetic replacement surgery and patient specific PEEK implants.
