Your Initial Visit

Your first visit with us will be a consultation with Dr Lim, Rix, Kim or Sukumar. A consultation appointment is required prior to arranging any surgical procedures to ensure we can provide you with optimal care and prepare you appropriately for surgery.  At your intial visit, a history of your oral condition is taken along with a medical history and a thorough examination of your mouth and jaws including assessment of x-rays and scans.  A treatment plan is decided upon and will be fully discussed with you including details of the surgical procedures and possible risks and complications. An estimate of fees with relevant item numbers will also be made available.  Options for your surgery will be discussed either in hospital under general anaesthesia or in our rooms under local anaesthetic. You will be given information as to how to prepare for your surgery what to expect after surgery and given post-operative instructions.

Jaw surgery patients will require to have available x-rays, 3D scans and any models of your teeth.  We have a Cone Beam CT scanner on-site and scans will be taken prior to your appointment. At your consultation, facial and intra-oral photographs will be taken and computerised imaging is often performed.

Implant surgery patients require 3D imaging to assess bone and position of nerves and other relevant anatomy. This can also be done at our practice prior to your consultation appointment.
